Congratulations to our newly promoted LLC Member, Courtney Mitchell
Courtney officially joined Summers Compton Wells LLC’s partnership on January 1, 2023. Courtney Mitchell knows the potential pitfalls of end-of-life planning. With nearly a decade of experience in trusts and estates and elder law, she offers her clients a comprehensive perspective for planning for life’s contingencies. Courtney focuses her practice on estate planning, business succession planning, probate and trust administration, and elder law subjects including asset protection, long-term care and special needs planning, and guardianships and conservatorships. Her elder law background uniquely positions her to advise individuals and families on protecting assets from the expenses of long-term care, supporting and planning for individuals with special needs, and serving in various fiduciary capacities. She is dedicated to helping her clients understand complex legal processes and ensuring they are well-informed of the potential issues ahead and the legal options available to them. Courtney enjoys creating estate plans tailored to each client’s specific circumstances and goals, whether those include simple planning for probate avoidance, planning for potential long-term care expenses, or implementing sophisticated strategies for the transfer of family business interests or multi-generational wealth with minimal gift and estate tax consequences. In addition to her work in trusts and estates, Courtney also has experience handling prenuptial agreements, real estate transactions, entity formation and governance, tax-exempt applications for non-profit organizations, and providing regulatory and compliance counsel to financial institutions and small businesses. |
